Meet Our Doctors

  • Robert P. Cotthaus , DVM
    Robert P. Cotthaus , DVM

    Dr. Robert Cotthaus is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. A Long Island native, Rob came to veterinary medicine as a second career. Following graduation from SUNY Stony Brook, he lived and worked in Boston and Brooklyn, NY for a number of years. Rob has a professional interest in the responsible and compassionate care in the use of laboratory animals in research and consults within the Biotechnology Industry. When not working, he can be found with his wife, four children and his 2 dogs, Benny and Stella, on the beach in the summer and the ski mountain in the winter.

  • Ruari White
    Ruairi White, DVM

    Originally from Ireland, Dr. White grew up in Newton, Massachusetts. He received his bachelor’s degree in Marine and Environmental Science from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 2008 and served 6 years in the Coast Guard before pursuing his childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. He graduated from Tufts University with his DVM and MPH in 2018, after which he completed a one-year large animal ambulatory medicine and surgery internship with Tufts Field Service.


    Dr. White loves the variety of mixed animal practice and enjoys seeing all species. When not working, Dr. White enjoys hiking, running, fishing, and playing guitar. He lives in East Haddam with his wife, Kelsey, and their dog, Kodi.

     

  • Marcy L. Nedder, DVM
    Marcy L. Nedder, DVM

    Dr. Marcy Nedder was born and raised in Central Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island in 1985. She worked as a registered nurse in a Boston hospital prior to her veterinary career. Dr. Nedder received her Doctoral of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University in 1996. She has practiced veterinary medicine in Boston and in various places in Connecticut. At home Dr. Nedder manages her own farm which includes horses, chickens, sheep, and her rescued dogs. Her twin daughters and husband, who is also a veterinarian, keep her busy as well. 

  • Dr. Jocelyn Kelley
    Jocelyn Kelley, DVM

    Dr. Jocelyn Kelley is originally from Montville, CT. She completed her undergraduate degree in animal science at Becker College in Leicester, MA. Dr. Kelley then obtained her veterinary medical training in Grenada at St. George’s University and completed her clinical year at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. Dr. Kelley’s professional interests include anesthesia, surgery, and wound care.

    Dr. Kelley lives in Glastonbury with her boyfriend Matt, her two dogs (Sophie & Opie), and two cats (Bentley & Chester). Her favorite activities include playing volleyball, snowboarding, going to the beach, and taking care of her house plants. Dr. Kelley can’t wait to meet you and your pets!

    Courtney Walker, DVM

    Dr. Courtney Walker is a CT native, born and raised in NW CT. She received her Bachelors in Pre-veterinary animal science from the University of Rhode Island in 2015. She then went on to work as a veterinary technician for 2 years while earning her Associates in Sign Language Interpretation from Northwestern Community College in Winsted, CT. After gaining experience and hands on experience in the veterinary world, she went on to graduate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the beautiful island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean.  

    Dr. Walker enjoys spending time with her 3 dogs (Ryder, Ferrah, and Malia) as well as her chinchilla (Rigby) and bearded dragon (Raja). She enjoys her new fascination of gardening and home improvement projects as well as hanging out with her friends in the Deaf community which is like her second family.  

    Dr. Walker is fluent in American Sign Language, has professional interests of exotic animal med (large or small she’ll see them all), surgery and dentistry.

    Emilie Gupta, DVM

    Dr. Emilie Gupta was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She received her undergraduate degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from Michigan State University in 2016. Afterwards, she obtained her veterinary degree from Michigan State University CVM in 2022. She then went on to a complete one-year small animal rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington D.C.  Although Dr. Gupta is a big fan of companion pets, she is also very passionate about zoo and wildlife. Her favorite animals she has worked with are tigers and raptors.

    Dr. Gupta enjoys hiking, reading, playing games, and going to the zoo. She lives in West Hartford with her partner, Phil, and her Australian Shepherd, Hurley.
